groundwork
groundwork is a space to tend to the soil of our own wisdom & nourish leadership that begins with the body.
Our cohort model is rooted in healing justice & collective power.
groundwork is At The Center's peer leadership development cohort designed for and by criminalized survivors and sex workers. It was created with the belief that those most impacted by the intersections of systems of violence carry the deepest wisdom about how to transform them, and deserve support developing the tools, resources, and community to lead that work.
Groundwork is where we return to ourselves and each other. Where somatic practice, political education, and organizing aren't separate tracks. They're the same work. We build the skills to facilitate healing spaces, to address harm without replicating state violence and to stay in the work without losing ourselves to it.
Through a co-designed curriculum, participants build skills in:
Facilitation & public speaking
Conflict transformation & accountability
Healing justice & somatics
Movement building & strategy
