Sex Work Policy Comparison Guide

How can it be called “The Survivor Model” if it silences so many survivors?

End Demand. The Nordic Model. The Equality Model. "Partial decrim." And now, "The Survivor Model." These names have been used for the same policy over many years now, and that makes it hard for anyone to understand what's actually being proposed or follow the research.

We made this guide because survivors and sex workers are too often left out of conversations about laws that shape our safety. It's written by survivors for anyone trying to understand the debate, whether you're a policymaker, an advocate, a service provider, or just someone who's only heard one side.

Inside, you'll find:

  • A side-by-side comparison of what End Demand and full decriminalization actually do (and don’t do!)

  • Evidence from countries that have tried each approach

  • Common myths, and what the research shows

  • The human rights, public health, anti-trafficking and survivor-led organizations that support full decriminalization

No single policy can end trafficking. But any solution that silences survivors isn't a solution.
